The area of Gold Coast City is 1402 square kilometers with about 70 kilometers of coastline.

Gold Coast is the second most populous city in the state and the sixth most populous city in the country. It is the second fastest growing City in Australia, and has an estimated population of 475,000, that keeps growing every year. The population consists of about 25% people that are from other countries. The city is multicultural and multilingual. Gold Coast City has more than ten million visitors every year and about a quarter of them are international visitors.

Going by the projections, the population by 2011 is expected to increase to 552,000 to 577,000.

The sub tropical climate ensures perfect conditions all through the year. The average summer temperature is anywhere between 19 and 29 degrees Celcius and the average winter temperature is 9 to 21 degrees Celcius.
